Though one of Bryan Adams' least known albums, I think it's one of his best. Happy rockin'!

Perfect Album

I was surprised to hear one of the negative reviews say this album was so horrible compared to the previous ones. I thought it was a perfect progression from his previous work. I love Reckless, etc. but I also love this album, so I must respectfully but strenuously disagree with that statement.
I also take issue with people who bash Bryan's lyrics, and his "radio friendly" songs. First of all, If a song has great lyrics, that's great, but many people, including myself, aren't looking for thought-provoking poetry here. We're looking for a good, fun song, and Bryan delivers that in spades. And since when is it a bad idea to write songs that work particularly well on the radio? That IS where most people hear them, isn't it? Now you can take this approach WAY too far (Nickelback, etc) but I don't think he does at all.
And as far as the lead guitar work on this album, it rivals that of Reckless. The highlights would have to be "Don't Drop That Bomb On Me" and "Everything I Do," but almost every song on this album has some great solos.
Rhythm work is rock-solid here as well, with some of his patented hooks in songs like "Can't Stop.." "Hey Honey I'm Packin' You In" etc. "House Arrest" is one of the coolest songs I've ever heard, and the lyrics are fun. No need to talk about drugs or having sex like most other musicians do, just a fun ride.
Some of the songs on this album did take a while to grow on me, namely tracks #1,5,6,and 11 but they are some real hidden gems, as far as I'm concerned. If you like Bryans music, get this album. Simple as that. I wish he was still writing music like this.

Guilty Pleasure

I grew up listening to this cd nonstop. I bought at least five tapes because they'd keep on breaking. I recently pulled the cd out of my collection while ripping some files onto my MP3 player. I still remember all the words to the songs but the cd is a bit cheesey to me now. Its funny how everyone I know hates Bryan Adams but I love him. His early stuff was better. Still though, a great rock album.

Great Music For Good Times

Wow,that is pretty much all I can say after listening to this CD.The songwriting on here is absolutely amazing. In fact I came real close to giving this a 5 star review (which I very rarely give) it really is that good.
Bryan Adams has the perfect voice for good time rock and roll, you won't find any show offs in this band either, every instrument fits the songs perfectly as does Adams' voice
The CD starts off strong with 'Is Your Mama Gonna Miss Ya' and just stays strong throughout, sure there are some hits that you've heard over and over like 'Do I Have To Say The Words' and (everything I do) I Do It For You,and Can't Stop This Thing We Started, but I honestly believe it is the songs that didn't get as much airplay that make this a 'must have' CD...I truly can't recommend this highly enough...the lyrics are cleaver and it's obvious thought went into them,my favorite song on here is 'There Will Never Be Another Tonight' but really every song is a classic and deserves a good listen...I can't end this review without mentioning the producer 'Robert John Mutt Lange' who definitely put his touch on this CD (he was the genius behind 'Highway to hell' and 'pyromania' not to mention most of the 'shania twain albums' in fact on most of the songs here you can almost hear Def Leppard doing these songs,no the music isn't nearly as heavy as Def Leppard but the vocal style of Bryan Adams sounds very very close to Joe Elliot of Def Leppard...this CD ROCKS!!!
The Upside - Every single song, the production is top notch, and the band and Bryan himself know how to play perfectly to a song rather then show off,the songwriting is the real star here,Bryan Adams is a master and most anyone in the industry could learn a thing or two from him
The Downside - There really isn't any,if I would have one small comment it would be that at 15 songs the CD does run a bit long but with songs this good you don't really feel bored, most other artists if they were to release 15 songs it would put you to sleep, but Bryan pulls it off
The Bottom Line - If you love good time music, stuff that you can dance to and smile this is for you...I recommend it very highly...run out and buy this, especially at this price you won't regret it..donutman says so!!!
