I was walking through BEST BUY, and noticed this CD named Sully, being my nick name is Sully, I bought this without a second thought, thinking if it stunk, I'd toss it. I usually listen to top 40 stuff, but also really like Enigma, NIN, and others. When I listened to this CD, I was very suprised how much I liked it. This CD, like Enigma, is one that you want to listen to from start to finish. The songs are similar to one another, but have a very good sound, not something that has been copied, or done before. Looking forward to their next CD.

I buyed this CD cause I liked to remix "anotherd" on Plastic Compilations volume 1. You find this track on this CD too, including another nice remix named "scrubbable". The rest ist mostly pop/metal style with not so nice lyrics but a great sound.

Sully's debut album, I Have Much to Report, is an intense set of industrial-tinged alterna-rock with slight dance undertones. Although the group has some trouble writing solid, memorable hooks, they have an intriguing, cathartic sound which makes I Have Much to Report a promising debut. Sully's music tends to be dark and very atmospheric. While it's often composed out of jamming, the resulting songs are very focused and intense. But at the same time, the vocals are usually driven by sound rather then lyrics.

This surprised the heck outta me, getting referred by my online book vendor to 'artists that sound like' CocteauTwins--and then discovering SULLY. After a quick listen to RA samples, I jumped--and haven't taken this CD off yet. SULLY excels in producing "that sound" with wonderfully inventive melodies. And Becke's voice is transporting as is the guitarist's wanderings into deep DSP space. I even liked the sound of Ian's snare and wrote him about it! Look, bottomline--those of us who wait for VW commercials just to hear Robin and Simon on TV, and those of us that hang at triplo.com/mbv hoping that one day Kevin will give the tapes to Island--we need this band! Like we need fresh oxygen in the blood. They are a step forward--a delightful blend of all we've come to love plus tech and ambient. Get it--Get It NOW.Dan Shubin, Honomu, Hawai'i (formerly of Portland, OR. ha-ha)
