Excellent Smooth Jazz Cd!

All three Bernard Oattes CDs, FRAME BY FRAME, SOUL DETECTIVE
amd RULES OF MY HEART are excellent. Bernard Oattes is
a highly talented musician/composer/producer. He is also blessed with one of the world's finest voices.

RULES OF MY HEART is a bit different from Bernard's first two CDs. This CD has fewer vocal numbers and more jazzy instrumentals. The instrumentals are very enjoyable, especially THIS HAUNTED HEART, but it's Bernard's perfect smooth jazz voice that I most enjoy.

Acoustic guitarist Peter White and
Dutch saxophonist Kees ten Dam (KTD) are featured on this CD.
Bernard Oattes and Peter White compliment each other perfectly and it's always great to hear them together, serene and beautiful.
Kees ten Dam's sax playing reminds me of David Sanborn.
KTD
plays a power driven sax that energizes the instrumentals.
If you love Richard Eliott and Kirk Whalum, you'll love KTD too.

This is an excellent smooth jazz CD that you won't want to miss. It's a shame that
Bernard Oattes is getting more airplay. When my friends hear
his CDs, they always want to know...Who is this guy?..he's excellent!

Great CD.

This was a good CD. If you want a good R&B, Jazz CD, get this track. Bernard has some awesome earlier CDs that are even better, but this one ranks high as well. It's interesting that an artist like this is not well known by most people. Too bad.
