#3 in a 4 Stars plus of the Forty & Fabulous series
Rating (4)
Date: 2006-09-05

Four plus is an almost Five star but . . . .
Here we have the story of Dixie Carmichael the third of the ditzy friends who certainly don't act their age at 40 years.
Fun loving, balmy, tried and true friends that act emotionally like the 20 year olds in their relationships with the men in their lives.

Dixie has a scare with a lump. And then a scare with the closing of the Curly Cactus Hair Salon. She just can't stand the thoughts of doing without her primping at the salon.

Maggie is still trying to find Andy, her stud Buffalo. Jack is trying to find out about the comings and goings of the trucks.
B.J. and Flynn have adopted a baby named Angela. And now Dixie has to contend with the Italian, Nick Romero, chef extraordinaire, [besides his undercover work as an FBI agent which she does not suspect]. But she does suspect him of other things. Oh,Oh!

Dixie is bound and determined to find clues as to what those truckers are up to. Silly female does not even consider that there is any danger involved. Oh, no - these ladies seem to think they can handle all of life's problems without help.
You will love her run-in with her ex-Danny and his present pregnant wife.

Nick and his "mother" contact, Wes, have worked together for 10 years and Nick wants Wes to consider quiting the bureau. No problem after he meets Gracie.
Love the way Dixie and Wes end up protecting Gracie and her kids from her scum-bag ex.
And Andy, he shows up at just the right time to be of assistance. Whistlers Bend, Montana has adjusted to include the fellas who end up falling for these three [should be 4] ladies through the hilarious escapades throwing them all together.

Such funny, hilarious, refreshing [except for the PMS] plots - it is a wonderful change of pace to travel through the screwy lives of these females and a buffalo - very uplifing.

Definitely Recomended --M - great covers also.

A Fabulous Series!

I finally got a chance to finish all three of the books in the Forty and Fabulous series and I loved them all! Dianne Castell has mastered the ability to combine humor and romance and her personality shines through in her writing. I especially love how she works in her love of peeps (I would never have pictured a buffalo eating peeps!) and her unique dieting philosophy. I highly recommend this series to all romance lovers:)

A Fabulous Wedding, the final installment of Dianne Castell's "Forty & Fabulous" series for Harlequin American, features a hero and heroine with conflicting goals and a wealth of sexual attraction. Forty-year-old Dixie Carmichael decides to pursue her life-long dream of becoming a reporter and throws herself into an investigation of smugglers who are using the rural area of Whistlers Bend, Montana, as a distribution area. FBI agent Nick Romero, undercover as a chef opening a restaurant in town, is also after the smugglers and eager to keep the budding journalist from being hurt. Without taking her into his confidence, Nick sticks close to Dixie - an assignment that leads to hot encounters and a desire for more than a casual relationship. But Dixie's sworn to leave town for greener pastures at a big city daily newspaper. Besides, she's been burned before by her lying ex-husband, so how will she react once she learns about Nick's dishonesty? A Fabulous Wedding is the funniest of the trilogy as Dixie draws the wrong conclusion - several times over - about Nick, his involvement with the smugglers, and the box of women's accessories in his closet. Throw in an AWOL buffalo with a yen for Peeps marshmallow treats, and the book will have you laughing out loud.

One Fabulous book!!

Dixie Carmichael was a lot of things, sexy, nosy and a natural at flirting and getting in trouble. A close call regarding her health made her re-evaluate her life. She made some life altering decisions. But she didn't count on a sexy, hunk of a male chef to turn all her plans more difficult with his good looks and great cooking. Only thing was there was more to Nick than that, and she could not pinpoint what it was. Nick thought the town was peaceful and relaxing until he met Dixie! She was a force of nature, with her sexy looks and her nosy ways, she was threatening more that his peace of mind. Dianne weaves a suspenseful sexy story, Dixie and Nick have fun, sass, and steam to bring the whole town of Whistlers Bend the excitement they want. I love the way all three stories connected in this book. The way she is closing these series of "Forty and Fabulous" is just wonderful. I could have had some more of this line it's a real shame this is the last of the trilogy.

I think Ms Castell just keeps getting better. My only complaint is that this story marks the end of her wonderful Forty and Fabulous trilogy. This is about Dixie, a warm-hearted, fun-loving woman who has a health scare and decides to do what she wants in life, which is become a reporter, and then she meets Nick. Can you say, 'Stop the presses'. The attraction between these two just burns up the pages. Dixie is a little suspicious of Nick, something just doesn't add up right. Nick is undercover investigating the strange things that have been going on in Whistlers Bend, namely fake designer goods found in the woods, and ironically he's undercover doing something that he hopes to do in real life when he gets out of his current profession. This story ties in beautifully with the previous two in its continuity. But, don't worry if you haven't read the previous ones, this stands alone and when you finish you will want to read the others just for the fun of it. Ms. Castell writes a really satisfying end to the trilogy. She just keeps getting better with every book she writes. I'm sorry to see the end of this series but, I'm really looking forward to the next story she has coming out.
