Product Description

Once upon a time, in a forest far away, lived a beautiful little girl with the most gorgeous blond hair you ever saw...People were always complimenting her on how wonderful she looked and pretty soon she began to think so, too. And that's when her troubles began.

That, too, is how Dom DeLuise's hilarious retelling of this old favorite begins. Spoiled and headstrong Goldilocks leaves her homework undone and goes for a walk in the woods without her parents' permission. When nobody answers her knock at the door of an adorable little cottage, our relentless heroine enters and makes herself at home, making a bit of a mess in the process.

The bears, out for a walk themselves (while Mama's pot of pasta e fagioli cools,) return home, discover the golden-haired intruder, give her a good scare, then ultimately forgive her.

Papa Bear repairs Baby Bear's broken chair (remember the story?) and Mama Bear serves up some pasta e fagioli with corn muffins and honey. Goldilocks, her lesson learned, joins the bears for lunch, and they all become fast friends.

Complete with recipes for porridge, pasta e fagioli and corn muffins, and with a diagram for repairing a broken chair, Goldilocks is delightfully illustrated by Christopher Santoro who, with Dom DeLuise, created the popular Charlie the Caterpillar.

This is a harmless version of Goldilocks with humor that is aimed more at the adult reader than a young child. There are better versions of the story out there.

Fantastic, Italian flair to an old story.

Coming from an Italian family, the touch of Italian culture makes this a very special addition to our childrens library. Suggestion, when reading this book use your minds ear to hear it in Dom's voice. My wife and I read this book with out our children and crack up.

This book is an exceptional book for children.
