I've had this book for a while. I finally got to it after I read "Inside The Magic", a book about Disney operations at their parks. Where as "Inside the Magic" focuses on business operations, "Yes you can!" focuses on, well...focusing. The first thing to know about this book is that you don't need to read it "traditionally". You read this one topic at a time in any order you want. All you do is focus on the topics that you need to work on. Tasks within those topics help to keep you focused on your goal. I end up reading the same topics, and when Im ready to move onto the next topic I can do that. The book is very empowering and addresses nearly anything you can imagine. I recommend this book to anyone wanting to have a self improvement aid that doesn't tell you what to do or how to go about it.

Bought the book quite a few years ago. Definitely worth reading. Has some nice little pick-me-up's in nice bite size chunks. Lost my copy quite a while ago, so I'm thinking of buying it again.

As a psychotherapist, I don't often turn to business authors or management consultants. This book is an exception. It is great for the one-page reader who wants help quickly. Deep and Sussman take some of the best psychological reasearch and bring the core down to a pithy statement, easily entertained, and place 7-10 or so of these on each page. The reader takes a topic of interest and finds just one page of pearls of wisdom. Topics range from the individual: "Insomnia" or Avoid Negative Self Talk" or "Forgive Your Mistakes" to business areas like "Accept Criticism" "Make Good Use of Time", to relationships and communicating effectively, then to prospering at work and at home: "Survive a Job Loss" "Raise Positive, Successful Children." One then reads the 7 to 10 Yes-you-can suggestions (many from bona fide research) written in simple sentences. Amazing. I show and suggest this book in my stress reduction and relaxation training group and many buy it. One holiday season I bought it as a gift for my favorite people. I highly recommend this!

I love this neat little book. It distills some of the most effective advice on work, health, family, and service into easily understandable and applicable blurbs. I love the inspiring quotations and the positive tone with which Deep and Sussman address the topics discussed in the book. Some of the information is just plain common sense, but there seems to be a shortage of that these days, making this book all the more necessary. Give it to the new graduate or as a gift to a new employee. They'll thank you later.
